To advance the development of the economies and peoples of the entire Caribbean region, educational programmes must be expanded and enriched wherever possible. To that end, FirstCaribbean has cultivated education parnerships throughout the Caribbean through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to positively contribute to the sustained growth and development of a vibrant, efficient and effective banking and financial services sector in the region. This stimulates and supports business development, inter-regional and international trade and better positions our Caribbean community to compete in a global market.

Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA)
Established in 1991 by Caricom Heads of Government, CDERA is a regional agency that is responsible for disaster management in the Caribbean Community. CDERA’s main function is to make an immediate and coordinated response to any disastrous event affecting any participating state, once the state requests such assistance. Other functions include securing, collating and channelling to interested agencies reliable information on disasters affecting the region. CDERA also has a very strong mandate to educate the public on disaster preparedness and mitigation.
