When staff member Lisa Mortimer qualified for the 2004 Bahamas Olympic team, she became the first international track athlete in the Caribbean to be individually sponsored by FirstCaribbean International Bank. Such is our commitment to our communities.

FirstCaribbean International Bank’s corporate social responsibility is an important strategic focus for our Company. We are serious about responding to the needs of the communities we serve and are committed to giving back to our Caribbean brothers and sisters in tangible ways. This is one of the primary reasons that the FirstCaribbean Comtrust Foundation was established. It is the governing body for our Sponsorship and Community Relations (SCR) initiatives and ensures that 1% of the Bank’s post tax profits reaches those important causes that contribute to the social health of the Caribbean. Last year this amounted to some US$1 million.

Our span of giving is wide and varied. From supporting the community efforts of hurricane distressed countries to sponsoring cultural events or helping the Cancer Associations of our region, we believe we have helped advance the quality of life of Caribbean people.

Our earnest pledge to serve and be instrumental in such development continued in 2006 and we again look forward to the exciting programmes planned for the upcoming year. Your support is
invaluable and we urge you to continue to walk hand in hand with us on this journey.

FirstCaribbean International Bank's contribution to supporting youth business in the region received recognition at the highest level when senior officers of the bank met with His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in Jamaica on March 18, 2008.
