When the FirstCaribbean Foundation conceived the Adopt-a-Cause/School Programme, it was felt that this initiative would enable our Bank to deliver on its Brand Promise of commitment to the Caribbean community.
It was also envisioned that staff would be able to move from “behind closed doors” to work hand in hand with members of the community who have largely contributed to our Bank’s success. Thus, one of the main reasons for launching the programme was to cultivate a spirit and desire of “giving back” among staff, in addition to giving our Bank a chance to respond to some of the immediate needs of our communities. As part of the Adopt-a-Cause Programme, our staff has undertaken several projects to develop schools, communities and educational programmes.
However, little did we anticipate that these projects would resonate so deeply in our hearts. In the same way that our Unsung Heroes personify the values of selflessness and sacrifice, our community involvement continues to remind us all, now more than ever, about the true meaning and spirit of partnership.
As one of the largest corporate donors in the region, our Bank contributes to hundreds of organisations and causes. We pledge to continue in this vein every year.
